Vermont Inspiration Guide

VermontVacation.com 13 ON E L SA L A Z AR What brought you to Vermont? My wife. When she was young, she traveled to my home country of Nicaragua where we met and fell in love. After getting married, we wanted to move to the U.S. Close to eight years ago, we made the move to my wife’s home state of Vermont, and we currently reside in Cabot. What keeps you here? The people. A few weeks after moving to Vermont, I started a job working in landscaping and stone masonry, and am still working for the same employer today. I love my job and my boss has become my best friend. Vermont’s landscape and scenery are amazing, with its mountains, lakes, ponds, and forests. I grew up in a rural area in Nicaragua, and nothing compares to living a life surrounded by nature. In this way, Vermont feels like home to me. PHOTO COURTESY OF: VERMONT TOURISM My passion is videography. Most recently, I worked on a video series with Vermont River Conservancy showcasing the Vermont waterways they have worked to protect. I enjoyed exploring new parts of the state and highlighting Vermont’s beauty through my work. I’m a big believer in following your passion and doing work that you love. I am grateful that Vermont has given me so many opportunities and good experiences that I’m not sure would have been attainable had we moved to a different state.
